New year, new me?
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you’re thinking about doing a turn around for 2023, why not?
They say its never too late to make a change, so if you’re trying for a more healthy lifestyle this year then you should follow along for some good tips.
Kathy Jennings, owner of Nutrition Center, said in an interview with News 40 that minerals are “more important than people realize.” and strongly recommended a daily multivitamin for people. She also said in your grocery cart, it should be a rainbow of variety.
Different colored foods mean different antioxidants; namely orange, blue, and yellow. Beta-carotene, anthocyanins, and lutein and zeaxanthin are all things that can benefit your health. Jennings also advocated for spices, saying if you’re “just a salt and pepper person, you need to broaden your horizons.”
Nutrition Center would probably seem like Shangri-La to natural food and health enthusiasts in Bowling Green, with it’s variety of plants and powders lining the shelves.
At Rock Box, owner Seaton Sheldon said an authentic and inspirational monologue that something we should do when making a change is “forget”. Sheldon said you should forget the past, forget your mistakes and just focus on the day. “Snowballing; building good days on to good days and good weeks on top of good weeks” the boxer said.
Sheldon said he knows he thinks people think of it as cliche, but he’s a fan of resolutions. Sheldon in his mind sees it as “why not?”. Even if you don’t run the whole gambit, at least you tried is what seems to be the gym owner’s mindset it would seem.
With healthy eating habits and maybe a fitness partner along the way, the new year might be one for the books for some of the health conscious viewers out there.
