New year, less taxes

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Going into 2023, individual income tax has been decreased by point five percent.

News 40 took a spin around town to get reactions to the still new to some information and came across the Grenier girls. Madison and Pauline weren’t aware of the news but Madison said she felt “very blessed that that’s happening” and Pauline chided in agreement with a comment about the economy and inflation.

News 40 spoke to Mandel Stockton as well, owner of Liberty Services. The tax man said with the income tax going down half a percentage point every year and sales tax going up, “it’s a win win”.

stockton also advocated for tweaking for W2 or W4 a little if you’d like. Opting to have less state tax taken out of your wages to have a little more in your pocket throughout the year.
