New Glass 4 Good program keeps glass out of trash

WARREN COUNTY, KY.- Recycling just got easier for local residents in Warren County with a new partnership between O-I Glass, Warren County Parks and Recreation, and United Way. This collaboration aims to collect over 50,000 pounds of glass, making a significant impact on both the local community and the environment. Scott Lachmiller, a business leader, with OI, emphasized the importance of reducing landfill waste, stating, “Glass is 100% recyclable over and over again, with no degradation, and it gets made right into a product.”

Lachmiller also tells us, that the recycled glass will be processed quickly, with new products hitting the shelves in as little as 30 days. Residents can now drop off their glass recyclables at two convenient locations: Ephram White Park and Basil Griffin Park. This initiative makes it simpler for residents to do their part in reducing waste and supporting sustainability efforts in the community. By recycling glass, local residents help reduce the environmental impact while contributing to a cleaner, greener future.
