National Corvette Museum opens new exhibit

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -The National Corvette Museum is always trying to tell the story of the corvette and how its come to be today. In its history, corvette racing has played a huge role in many lives, including the life of legendary photographer Richard Prince.

Today the National Corvette Museum honored the hall of famer with a new exhibit featuring his life work photographing corvettes. Prince has worked with corvette for 29 years capturing some of the most stunning moments in corvette’s history. The exhibit titled ‘Speed Captured: The Photographic Works of Richard Prince’ features Prince’s photos, and some of the cars captured in some of his most legendary photos.

“Tt wasn’t until Richard got involved that he brought a certain artistry to how that sport was presented to the world. And it’s a lot of what we try to do here within the museum is elevate the experience. And I think Richard has done an amazing job, obviously, of capturing the Corvette from a different perspective” said the National Corvette Museum’s Director of Collections and Exhibitions Robert Maxhimer.

For Prince, who has been a life long lover of corvettes, spending his life’s work capturing the beauty of not just the cars, but the teams that have brought success to the corvette name, has been a dream.

“I came to appreciate everything about them the engineering, the mechanics, the reliability, the usable liberty, the handling, the performance. And so to go from a point where I was absolutely in love with the cars to being able to earn my living and to center my work around the cars, it’s a dream job. It’s a dream come true for me” Prince said.

The exhibit will be up through the end of the year in the museum’s limited engagement gallery.
