SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – This year is the 12th annual seminar, competition and certification event at On Point K9, bringing dozens of officers from several states to gather together and train for better public service.

Police and military dogs are locators for drugs or people and to test their skill along with the handler’s competency, On Point decided 12 years ago to start a small note and tactic exchanging event with agencies they do business with which has grown greatly over the years.

On Point Owner Jason Hanley said a great benefit to attendees is not only improving their skills but a sense of camaraderie.

Plenty of returning officers have racked up several years of participation, like Coporal Sean Obrien with the Lawrenceville Police Department in Georgia, who said they keep coming back because “the feedback here is great and everyone here truly wants to help everyone else get better.”
