BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Police say a Morgantown man was under the influence and caused a hit-and-run crash.

The Bowling Green Police Department responded to a Saturday afternoon call to Scottsville Road and Interstate 65 Exit Ramp 22.

A second complainant says Joshua Dockery, 47, of Morgantown was under the influence when his vehicle struck another vehicle at the scene, according to a uniform citation.

The complainant also said Dockery left the scene and drove to a hotel.

In addition, police say they were told an adult passenger and two juveniles were in the vehicle.

Police made contact with Dockery at the hotel. The passenger told police Dockery consumed 30 alcoholic drinks before the crash and had taken the passenger’s cell phone until they arrived at the hotel, according to police.

Police say Dockery was slurring his speech and would repeatedly doze off.

Dockery is charged with first-degree operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance, first-degree wanton endangerment and intimidating a participant in the legal process.

Dockery is lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.
