More information released following a shooting and wreck killing a Bowling Green man
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A 19-year-old from Bowling Green is dead following a shooting and subsequent car crash Monday night.
Bowling Green Police responded to a shooting call at the Crown Apartment complex just before 9 p.m. Monday night.
Police found a blood trail on the scene, but no victim.
Moments later, about three-and-a-half miles away, Sheryl Cross was startled by a loud noise.
“I was sitting in my living room and I heard a large crash,” said Cross.
Officers arrived at the scene of the vehicle crash at Seventh Avenue and Chestnut Street involving a car carrying the gunshot victim.
“The gentleman that apparently ran the light, his car was hit broadside, it was a T-bone and he couldn’t get out of his door. He had to climb out the window and he was yelling at the cop telling him that there was somebody shot inside the car and he was trying to get him to the hospital,” said Cross.
The shooting victim was identified as 19-year-old Timothy Adrian Taylor.
Following the crash, Taylor was taken to The Medical Center at Bowling Green where he is pronounced dead.
According to a police report, Taylor’s death does not seem to be related to the collision.
“Both cars were totaled. It was bad. It was really, really loud,” said Cross.
According to Bowling Green Police Officer Ronnie Ward, officials are continuing to investigate the incident.
“We are just looking to see what people saw, what they heard. So, if one person tells us something that we did not know then that may expand that,” said Ward.
According to police, the driver, Malik Brown, and passengers Nevaeh Wilson and Jersey Morris were all transported to the hospital with minor injuries from the collision.
In a statement, the Crown Apartments representatives said,
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the person killed last night. To our knowledge, the individual was not a resident of the property.
We are cooperating fully with the Bowling Green police as they investigate matter and have notified our residents about the incident.”
