More cantaloupes recalled after new cases of salmonella, 2 deaths

(CNN) – Two deaths have now been reported in the salmonella outbreak linked to cantaloupe as the number of new cases has doubled.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 56 new cases of salmonella have been reported since last week.
The number of states reporting cases have also increased by 17.
So far, a total number of 99 cases have been reported in 32 states, including 28 new hospitalizations.
Two deaths have also been reported in Minnesota.
This comes as more cantaloupes are being recalled due to the outbreak.
This includes Rudy brand whole cantaloupes, Freshness Guaranteed brand, as well as RaceTrac brand pre-cut cantaloupes.
Symptoms of salmonella include fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
