Metcalfe County students go back in time for Read Across America Week

EDMONTON, Ky. – Metcalfe County Middle School celebrated Read Across America Week with a ’50s and ’60s day.

Students have been reading “The Outsiders,” and some special cars rolled into the lot to bring the theme home.

The district says the classic car show inspired a lot of questions, and students voted for their favorite car – the ’72 Camaro SS won, followed closely by the ’55 Chevrolet SS.

The Mid-Kentucky Antique Car Club, Glenn Adams and Ken Branstetter brought their cars, spoke with students and helped take classes back in time.
