Metcalfe County man indicted for illegal possession of firearm

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Metcalfe County man has been indicted on charges related to illegally possessing a firearm.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Western District of Kentucky, Damien N. Wilson, 29, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, was indicted on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officials say Wilson was in possession of a pistol in November despite being prohibited from doing so due to past convictions for felony offenses.

Wilson was indicted in 2018, 2019 and twice in 2022 for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Wilson was scheduled for arraignment on Feb. 21. He remains in custody pending trial.

If convicted, officials say Wilson faces up to 15 years in prison.
