Metcalfe County among locations offering warming center amid frigid temperatures

EDMONTON, Ky. – Metcalfe County is among multiple locations offering a warm place after temperatures dropped even further overnight into Monday morning.
According to Edmonton-Metcalfe 911, due to the cold temperatures and some residents being without power or heat, a warming center is open Monday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.
The shelter can be found at Leftwich Hall at Bowling Park in Edmonton located at 1608 W. Stockton St.
Residents should bring their own blankets and bedding. Emergency officials say a food pantry will be used for those in need, and no pets will be permitted.
Edmonton-Metcalfe EMS reminds the community that temperatures will remain extremely low for the next few days, and roads are expected to re-freeze. This will cause hazardous travel conditions, especially overnight into the early morning.
If you or someone you know does not have safe heat or power, the agency asks that those in need consider using the warming center before road conditions worsen further.
