EDMONTON, Ky. – Two Metcalfe County High School students are set to participate in the 2025 HOBY Kentucky Leadership Seminar.

According to Metcalfe County Schools, HOBY ambassadors and MCHS sophomores Corinne Keller and Abby Shirley will travel to a Kentucky college or university next summer to practice their personal leadership skills and values.

The students will also try out these skills while collaborating with diverse groups to learn how to positively influence their community.

MCHS principal Joseph Eaton said, “This is an incredible honor for Corinne and Abby and a testament to their leadership potential. We are confident that they will excel in this program and bring back valuable insights and experiences to share with our school community. Abby and Corinne will represent MCHS and Metcalfe County proudly next Summer.”

The district says Hugh O’Brian founded HOBY in 1958 “as a nonprofit organization to inspire a global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation.”
