Messages for mom: Potter Gray prepares for Mother’s Day
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With Mother’s Day just days away, Potter Gray Elementary School is showing appreciation for some local moms.
In order to show how much they care, students have been creating memorable pieces of art for Mother’s Day.
Today, News 40 Reporter for a Day Ellie Pendleton hit the halls to find out what’s in store for our favorite gal and why celebrating her is so important.
Some of the most popular Mother’s Day preparations? Flowers and a special Mother’s Day card.
Logan Steebergen, a first-grade teacher at Potter Gray, said, “I know how important our mothers are to each of the students and to me as the teacher. They help us throughout the year, they do so much for us, and Mother’s Day is such a special time for them to be able to show their thanks.”
When asked what makes each student’s mother special this Mother’s Day, students’ answers ranged from “she makes it special because she helps me do the hard things that I don’t know how to do,” to “she’s really funny and kind, and she helps us a lot.”
“She always lets me drive my Gator around the yard when I’m done with my homework. She does so much for us and I just want to say thank you,” another student said.
One student had a message he wanted to share for his mom.
“I love you and thank you for taking care of us.”
