Meltdown Ice Cream awarded national grant
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s coming up on two years now that the Meltdown Ice Cream shop and Soda Fountain has been open and they’ve just been awarded some money that should go a long way.
Meltdown owner Susan Warrell told News 40 that she applied for a national grant geared toward helping small businesses across the country several weeks ago and just received great news this week, being awarded $10,000. The grant is a big treat to the frozen treat shop who will be using it to advance the business in ways to better serve the community.
Warrell said that the grant was applied for by 5,000 businesses and awarded to just 500, but the good news doesn’t stop there. According to the shop keep, the 500 that received the grant this time around will be able to apply for an additional $35,000 dollars in September which will only be awarded to 25 businesses.
