Meet the new additions to Barren County Schools
BARREN COUNTY, Ky.- It’s the dawn of a new day for Barron County schools. Preparing the students and advancing them is just the beginning of what this upcoming school year has to offer.
Michael Davis, the director of elementary instruction, shares, “The district going to continue to grow, continue to give our students and our staff the best that we can offer. and it starts every day with us being the very best that we can be. And so in these positions, we have to be very focused on what’s going to be best for our students, our staff, our community, to help, you know, support our vision.”
As the district grows, Barren County Schools is following suit by adding new staff and new opportunities for students.
Davis shares the effects new opportunities have on the students. He says, “There are a lot of great things that come in. We have many opportunities in the classroom to prepare those kids’ lives. it’s a large weight. You know, every decision that we make matters.”
The work that’s done now is preparation for the future of the students who attend any school in Barren County.
Christa Middleton, the director of Special Programs, tells us, “We want all of our kids, all of our students to leave high school ready for life now, whatever it is, we want them to be the best at what they do, what they choose to do. and to be successful and to be good citizens.”
Middleton also says, “It really starts with making sure our students are able to communicate, to be able to work in teams, to take initiative, to understand the importance of learning and being the very best that they can be on.”
The staff at Barren County Schools tell us that becoming a good citizen starts with embodying the Trojan and the foundation.
Davis says, “It starts at the elementary schools, and it builds up through middle school and high school. But over the course of time, we want them to be productive and proactive.”
