FRANKLIN, Ky. – As we inch closer to January 1, processors, cultivators and storefronts are preparing for medical marijuana to become legal in Kentucky.

In south central Kentucky, several businesses have been given the green light to help bring medical cannabis to the state and while thousands of people across Kentucky have their reservations, many others have voiced support for the new venture.

News 40 spoke to Jonathan Knarreborg  who owns AJ Alchemy a company that will be a processor for medical marijuana. Knarreborg said while he understands people’s sensitivities, he thinks this will be nothing but positive for Kentucky.
The business owner said the benefits of medical cannabis to those suffering from illness can be high and it will be an economic boom for the state.
