Med Center Health hosts ‘A Day Just for Women’

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Many women often find themselves at the bottom of their own priority lists, especially when it comes to health.

However, Med Center Health is making a significant impact with its annual event, “A Day Just for Women,” now celebrating its 25th year.

This initiative offers free screenings, entertainment and vital health information, aiming to remind women of the importance of self-care.

Sarah Widener, the Health and Wellness director at Med Center, emphasizes the need for dedicated time for women, stating, “We don’t always put ourselves first or allow ourselves to slow down.”

Taking time for self-nurturing not only benefits women but also positively affects those around them. Widener encourages women to “take care of yourself first, because you have to fill your cup to fill somebody else’s.”

When women neglect their own health, it can lead to stress and unhealthy habits, ultimately impacting their overall well-being. Regularly prioritizing health, both mental and physical, can alter the course of one’s life, fostering a healthier, happier community.

This year’s event serves as a powerful reminder that women deserve to prioritize themselves, making a lasting difference in their lives and the lives of others.
