Med Center Health Foundation awards nearly $50K in scholarships to local students

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Med Center Health has announced the Med Center Health Foundation has given $49,000 in scholarships to local students for the 2024-25 academic year.

According to a release by Med Center Health, six scholarships went to 10 students who live in south-central Kentucky.

The following are 2024-25 MCH Foundation Scholarship recipients:

Floyd Ellis Scholarship: given to full-time student at WKU who is a dependent child of WRECC employee. Covers tuition and a book allowance.

  • Awarded to Aubry Weaver.

Carrel K. Sumner Family Memorial Scholarship: given to up to two students who are dependent children of MCH employees. Total amount awarded is $5,000.

  • Awarded toKaylee Bielak and Lexi Harrison.

Charles M. Stewart Scholarship: given to up to two Western Kentucky University students who are dependent children of MCH employees. Total amount awarded is $4,300.

  • Awarded to Hallie Cassady and Rhyan Curry.

Herbert A. Oldham Scholarship: awarded to a WKU student who is a member of an underrepresented population and who is a graduate of a high school in Warren County. Covers tuition and a book allowance.

  • Awarded to Madison Stockton.

Helen Dinning Scholarship: awarded to graduates of Franklin-Simpson High School who are full-time sophomores, juniors, or seniors at WKU and who are currently enrolled in a health-related degree program. Total amount awarded is $4,300.

  • Awarded to Mollie Fowler and Katelin Henderson.

The Medical Center at Scottsville Scholarship: awarded to graduates of Allen County-Scottsville High School who are beginning freshmen at WKU. Covers tuition and a book allowance.

  • Awarded to Anna Gross and Shaelee Welch.
