McConnell stops in Glasgow, talks tariffs and first 100 days of Trump administration
GLASGOW, Ky. – United States Sen. Mitch McConnell visited Glasgow Thursday to speak to the city’s rotary club and talk politics.
McConnell said tariffs in his view are not the best way to broker anything but is hopeful that the president’s plan will pay off.
McConnell said, “This administration is bold. We just have to see how things shake out.”
He also spoke about the foreign threats of China, Iran and other counties, who he says are looking to unseat the United States as the most important economy in the world.
The senator further discussed being a polio survivor and the efficacy of vaccines, and with so many changes coming from the White House, McConnell said he is aware of people’s concerns and is understanding of struggling Americans, but it’s ultimately a waiting game as we watch President Donald Trump continue to work.
McConnell said he is committed to serving Kentucky, which he believes is the best state in the nation.
