Marie Callender’s shepherd’s pie recalled over plastic concerns

Conagra Brands, Inc. is recalling over 2,000 pounds of frozen beef shepherd’s pie products.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the frozen pies may contain clear, flexible plastic.

The products were produced on March 1 with time stamps ranging between 17:45 and 17:56 hours. The label of the recalled 4.31-pound products includes “MC Beef Shepherd’s Pie” with lot code 5006306020, a best by date of Feb. 24 2024 and a case code 2113100032. The products contain six 11.5-ounce carton packages of Marie Callender’s Beef Shepherd’s Pie with the same lot code, best by date and time stamps.

The FSIS says the items were shipped to retail customer distribution centers in several states before they were distributed nationwide.

No adverse reactions have been reported due to the consumption of these products.

However, consumers who have purchased these products should not consume them. Affected products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
