Man served arrest warrant on burglary charges while in jail
SAVOYARD, Ky. – A man was served an arrest warrant on burglary charges Monday, April 18.
On Tuesday, April 12 around 7:30 p.m., the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office received a burglary complaint on Hiseville Center Road in the Savoyard community of Metcalfe County.
When a deputy responded, the victim said the residence belonged to a deceased parent and was unoccupied, according to the sheriff’s office. Through investigation, the deputy determined that the suspect forced entry through a side door. Once inside the residence, the suspect removed several items of value, including jewelry. A suspect was developed based on evidence, which led to an arrest warrant.
On Monday, April 18 at 5:36 p.m., Christopher A. O’Brien, 42, was served the arrest warrant while lodged in Hart County Jail on unrelated charges. O’Brien was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.
O’Brien was later transferred to the Barren County Detention Center.
This incident remains under investigation.
