Man injured by bull in Logan County, 17 cows dead from dehydration, sheriff’s office says

ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – One man was flown to the hospital Monday after deputies say he was injured by a bull in Logan County.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says Logan County EMS was dispatched at 1:44 p.m. for a medical accident at a farm near the 400 block of South and Schochoh Road.

According to a release by the sheriff’s office, the caller stated a worker had been attacked by a bull and had serious injuries.

The victim was located by EMS and the Adairville Fire Department, who transported him to the Adairville Fire Station, where he was flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment.

In addition, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office says it was contacted in reference to multiple dead cows in a nearby field.

Deputies say a total of 17 cows were dead from dehydration after a breaker had tripped and turned off the water source for the animals. The sheriff’s office says it was determined it had been several weeks since the animals had been checked on, but adequate water was present and not available due to the breaker. The incident was determined to be accidental with no intent of neglect, deputies say.

No identities have been released at this time.

This was a joint investigation with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Agriculture with the assistance of Logan County EMS and Adairville Fire Department.
