CAVE CITY, Ky. – A man is facing charges after officials say a missing juvenile has been found, along with illegal drugs, at a Barren County residence.

The Barren River Drug Task Force says detectives, along with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, searched a residence around 11 p.m. Thursday night on Hiseville Bear Wallow Road in Cave City.

Officials say they responded in reference to alleged sales of illegal drugs by Jimmy Lee Edwards, 75.

While executing a search warrant, officials say they located a missing 17-year-old. During this time, officials say the juvenile told them he had used methamphetamine at the residence. An adult female was also present and confirmed Edwards provided the juvenile with methamphetamine and instructed him how to participate in distributing it, officials say.

The identity of the adult female has not been released.

Officials say while at the residence, they obtained over 6 ounces of crystal meth, along with 58 grams of suspected marijuana from Edwards. Officials additionally say they found four firearms, cash, scales, baggies, drug paraphernalia and cell phones.

Edwards was arrested and faces two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams, with one count enhanced by firearms), trafficking in marijuana, first offense, and unlawful transaction with a minor under 18 years of age (illegal controlled substance).

Edwards remains at the Barren County Detention Center.
