Man charged with burglary, rape in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man is facing several charges after a reported sexual assault in Bowling Green.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department received a complaint of a sexual assault on Saturday.
Police say the victim stated Robert Jones, 53, sexually assaulted her in the early morning hours of Oct. 5 at a residence on Chestnut Street.
According to the citation, the results of a sexual assault kit are pending at this time.
Robert was arrested the following day after police say a male witness stated Jones had been “bragging” about sexually assaulting the victim.
Jones is charged with first-degree rape, second-degree burglary and first-degree sexual abuse.
The investigation is ongoing. Jones remains at the Warren County Detention Center with no bond.
