BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man is facing charges after an altercation at a Bowling Green motel.

Thursday night around 9:33 p.m., Bowling Green police responded to the 3100 block of Scottsville Road for a reported domestic disturbance, according to a uniform citation.

The uniform citation states upon arrival, police heard a subject, identified as 47-year-old Jeremy Blanton of Bowling Green, Kentucky, yelling inside of the motel room.

Police say while trying to detain Blanton, he resisted arrest before stepping toward a table, where a knife and revolver were laying.

According to the uniform citation, when the officer drew his taser, Blanton commanded a large dog to attack the officer. The dog stopped approaching once the taser was discharged, making contact with Blanton, police say.

He was placed into custody and treated by EMS. Blanton was later transported to the Warren County Detention Center.

Blanton faces charges of assault and resisting arrest.
