Man arrested in Simpson County on rape, incest charges
FRANKLIN, Ky. – A man is behind bars and facing several charges related to sexual abuse and incest.
According to authorities, the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, along with assistance from an officer from the Franklin Police Department and his K-9, Shadow, arrested 27-year-old Kenyon Cole on Aug. 24 around 11 p.m. near his home on Rapids Road.
Cole was out on bail for similar offenses when authorities arrived at his home with a new arrest warrant Wednesday, stated officials. That’s when the sheriff’s department says Cole took off running, and neighbors helped officers locate and arrest him.
Cole is lodged in Simpson County Detention Center and faces multiple charges, including first-degree rape, incest, first-degree sodomy, sexual abuse, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor for illegal sex acts, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor for illegal controlled substances, second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office stated this arrest stems from an investigation they began on July 28.
Cole is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
