Man arrested in connection with 2020 fentanyl overdose in Logan Co.

ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – A man is facing multiple charges after spending roughly a year and a half as a fugitive after an overdose death in Logan County.

In 2020, South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force agents stated they received a call of a possible drug overdose on Stagger Avenue.

Authorities stated EMS arrived and declared 23-year-old Cody Elmore dead inside an Adairville apartment. According to the drug task force, the coroner stated Elmore died of a fentanyl overdose. A second overdose victim that night had gone to the hospital but was stable.

After an investigation, authorities found the two victims purchased the drugs from 22-year-old Caleb Parks in White House, Tennessee on the evening of Dec. 7, 2020. Authorities issued a warrant for his arrest.

Parks, who has been on the run since, was arrested in Sumner County, Tennessee on Monday.

Parks is now in the Logan County Detention Center, where he faces charges of second-degree manslaughter and first-degree wanton endangerment.
