Man arrested after posting social media threat to a Warren County school

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man concerning a school threat on Tuesday.

Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower says the office received information related to a threatening social media post directed against a Warren County Public School.

Through an investigation of social media platforms, the sheriff’s office says the posts were made by Tristan Cardwell, 18 of Roundhill.

Cardwell was apprehended by the sheriff’s office on Tuesday evening and is lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.

Cardwell is charged with terroristic threatening, 2nd degree.

Hightower says the agency investigates all threatening social media posts and seeks full prosecution of offenders. WCSO released a statement Tuesday during the announcement of the arrest, saying “If anyone believes they can incite fear and not face consequences, you will be sadly mistaken. Our agency along with our other law enforcement partners will thoroughly investigate these posts and seek full prosecution.”

This is a developing story.
