EDMONTON, Ky. – One man is facing multiple charges after an alleged high-speed pursuit ended in Adair County.

According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police observed a vehicle speeding east on the Cumberland Parkway on Monday afternoon in Metcalfe County.

Authorities say the vehicle was traveling at 89 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone.

According the citation, a KSP trooper began to attempt to stop the vehicle but could not reach it even while going 124 mph.

A trooper then observed the vehicle going north on Kentucky Highway 61 and conducted a traffic stop at a FiveStar gas station at the intersection of Burkesville Road and Hudson Street.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Jaden Mills of Columbia, Kentucky.

Authorities say Mills stated at first that he had not seen a trooper on the parkway. Troopers say the vehicle contained a passenger while the vehicle was allegedly speeding.

Mills later admitted he did see the KSP cruiser multiple times, authorities say, along with stating he had cut off another vehicle and was going to apologize to the other driver.

Mills was taken into custody and transported to the Adair County Jail.

He faces charges of speeding 19 mph or greater over the speed limit (limited access), first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, reckless driving and failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation.
