Man apprehended following high-speed Allen County pursuit

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – One man is facing several charges following a high-speed pursuit through Scottsville early Tuesday morning.
According to a uniform citation, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office regarding a vehicle that had fled from officers in Tennessee and was heading toward Allen County from New Gallatin Road.
Authorities say they observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, however, the vehicle accelerated.
The vehicle then ran a stop light and reached speeds over 100 miles per hour, according to authorities.
Authorities say Allen County deputies pursued the vehicle to the Barren County line.
Once in Barren County, the citation states the Kentucky State Police deployed spike strips, which hit both front tires.
The vehicle then reached a stop on the side of Scottsville Road.
The driver, identified as 27-year-old Cody Black of Louisville, was arrested.
Black remains at the Allen County Detention Center on charges of speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit, reckless driving, second-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle) and disregarding a traffic control device – traffic light.
