Man accused of kicking and choking his three small children
CAVE CITY, Ky. – A Cave City man is behind bars after police say he kicked his three small children in the stomach multiple times.
Barren County Sheriff’s deputies were called to assist social services to a report of abuse on Griderville Road.
Social services interviewed three children and their father, Benjamin Brown.
According to his citation, all three children said they had been kicked, choked and struck by Brown.
Brown admitted to kicking the children in the stomach at least once a week and grabbing them by the throat with the intention of having them look at him every two or three weeks as well as kicking one child while he was on the ground in the torso, according to the citation.
The citation says all of those incidents were intended as punishment.
Brown is accused of placing all three children at risk of severe physical injury by means of cruel punishment. He is charged with three counts of first-degree criminal abuse.
According to the citation, his five-year-old son had marks on his stomach from the kicking.
