Mammoth Cave celebrates National Park Week

MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky.- If you or your family are looking for a getaway, now is the perfect time to visit a national park. One national park right around the corner, Mammoth Cave National Park, is celebrating Earth Day and National Park Week.

This week is for people to get involved with national parks, experience what they have to offer and learn more about the opportunities the parks bring.

Molly Schroer, public information officer for Mammoth Cave National Park, says, “There’s a lot of these tiny little units that are just peppered in out there and they are also wonderful opportunities, they’ve got beauty, they’ve got history, they’ve got things that can really grab you and pull you in, and that’s what this week is about. Celebrating not only our big beautiful gems but also the smaller parks that maybe don’t get as much attention throughout the year.”

Park officials say that national parks are a great way to connect with the land and culture of the area.

National Park Week lasts through April 28.
