Logan County residents to see changes in trash pickup starting in April
LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – Logan County has recently signed a new garbage contract that will be implemented in April and offer more services to the residents of Logan County.
Beginning next month, Logan County residents will have a new trash pattern that offers more pickup and disposal services across the county. With the new contract, Logan County residents will be able to throw out trash every week of the month, including the week of recyclable pickup.
Recyclable pickup will also be changing for some residents, as pick up will be staggered week by week instead of one collection during the third week of the month.
Logan County leaders say they’ve taken complaints from the public into consideration as this new contract allows for more trash pickup while also keeping the price close to what it has been.
“This option, Skyway Services, had the best bid on it and also was willing to have it pretty well the same price to do this as well as other options where we do like we do now or not have recycling at all. And so they were willing to work with us and we appreciate that. And so it allows us to, you know, keep prices pretty well the same, but all for that extra week of garbage service in addition to the recycling,” said Logan County solid waste coordinator Nathan Cockrill.
Cockrill says that city festivals and houses of worship can also receive a free small dumpster as well. Leaf pick up will also be free for the cities of Russellville, Adairville, Auburn and Lewisburg during select dates in the fall.
