RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, Logan County is holding a Revolutionary War in a Trunk event coming up on July 10.

Revolutionary War in a Trunk is an outdoor experience to bring the community together for the history of the start of the country. The event will be a hands-on experience, and anyone can attend. The event will consist of revolutionary stories and artifacts, and replicas of items from the Revolutionary War period.

These items will help represent what life was like during the Virginia and Kentucky frontier in the 1770s, organizers say. Some examples of the items that will be shown are equipment, clothes, personal hygiene items and other necessities.

The event is sponsored by local foundations supporting the history of America, such as the Federation of State Humanities Councils, the Kentucky Historical Society, the America 250 Commission and multiple others.

The event has free admission for all ages and will take place on July 10, starting at 6 p.m. at the historic Logan County courthouse.
