Local teen setting a very special birthday goal
EDMONTON, Ky. – Local high school student Leah Kerr is raising money until her birthday this year, and she’s asking the community to join in.
Leah has set up a donation page and became a “Champion for Kids” through Norton Children’s Hospital to raise money for the patient assistance fund. She has a goal of $16,000 over 16 weeks leading up to her 16th birthday to help ease the burden on those families who frequently trip to the hospital in Louisville.
Angela Kerr, Leah’s mother, said she couldn’t be prouder of her daughter for pursuing this and that her daughter has always been big on kindness and service.
Money given goes straight to a special fund meant to help out patient families with travel expenses like gas, food and more as many treated by Norton Children’s Hospital come from outside the Louisville area.
