Local restaurant reopens in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, Ky – After closing on Dec. 19, 2025, Concon’s Diner officially reopened last Wednesday at a new location at 9515 Bowling Green Road in Morgantown.

Owner Connie Blair said the response since reopening has been overwhelmingly positive.

“It’s been incredible. I’m right in between Bowling Green and Morgantown, so I’m getting customers from both,” Blair said. “I’ve got a lot of good followers, and I’m so appreciative.”

Blair said learning she would have to relocate was initially devastating, but she has since found motivation to embrace the change.

“My mom passed away several years ago, but she always wanted me to move out here,” Blair said. “I told her I couldn’t move my booming business from town, but now it just feels right.”

Customers say the food keeps them coming back, but it’s the atmosphere that sets the restaurant apart.

“It’s really good. It’s nice to go into a place with friendly faces and people who recognize you,” said returning customer Ellen Long. “There’s one lady working here I hadn’t seen in 12 years, and she remembered my name. That means a lot.”

Long added she believes the diner will have a positive impact on the community.

“It’s really going to help this community,” Long said. “I grew up right down the road, and people my age are going to love coming here.”
