Local predicts highest firework sales on the Fourth of July

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- As celebrations of Independence Day continue, fireworks sales are booming. The price of fireworks is actually on the decline this year after climbing up in previous years due to inventory and supply issues.

Local stands are seeing steady crowds, and the manager at Mad Fireworks tells News 40 that 75% of the stand’s firework sales will be on July 4.

Because the fourth is on a Thursday this year, tent managers are hopeful to see business through the start of the weekend.

Tent manager David Kemp at the Mad Fireworks tent set up in Bowling Green says, “It’s been steady, we opened the tent and everything was ready to go about 7:45, and the first customers came in at 8 o’clock, and even as we’re talking somebody is checking out, there’s people behind me shopping, and it’s just non-stop. Today will be non-stop all day long, at every tent across the country just about.”

The Mad Fireworks tent is located at Trees and Trends in Bowling Green  and will be giving a percentage of the commission back to Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club, Ronald McDonald House and the Warren County Baseball Club.
