Local power companies ready to help
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With inclement weather rolling through eastern Kentucky, the concern for power grids remain from last year.
News 40 spoke to local power supplier Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation about the potential of sending support to eastern Kentucky to aid with restoration. To this, Kim Phelps, Communication and Public Relations Senior Director said that co-ops in Kentucky are like families.
Phelps said any company that’s able to spare any resources is happy to do so, and WRECC especially. Phelps made mention that they’ve received helped from across the state and the country on occasion, so they would be happy to help their fellow cooperatives.
Phelps told News 40 that after helping out in eastern Kentucky after their historic flooding last year, they’d commit to helping all over again.
