Local performers join together for annual Amplifest

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This weekend was the second annual Amplifest by the Bowling Green Amplify Foundation.

It was an event free to the community, with donations being encouraged. BGAF is a nonprofit organization that works to provide scholarships to kids to get into arts programs.

At Amplifest this year, a live rock band from Bowling Green Rock Band Academy, along with dance performances, took the stage for a good cause.

Carley Devore, treasurer of the Bowling Green Amplify Foundation, says, “We’re raising funds to do scholarships for various arts programs. Right now, we mostly work with Rotman Academy and with soccer dance arts and provide scholarships for, and we also do community events.”

Devore said to keep up with BGAF, check out their Facebook page, and find out how to get involved to help some kids enter an arts pathway.
