Local churches reviewing security procedures
BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – In light of recent violence at houses of worship around the country, many churches, synagogues and mosques are reviewing their security procedures, including one in Brownsville.
Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church is a small church with a large security presence.
The pastor says the church has a security team that works together to create the safest environment it can.
Last weekend in Texas, a man killed two people at a church before an armed attendee shot and killed him.
Church officials in Brownsville say they hope to learn from that experience.
The church’s security team will soon gather and watch the video from the Texas incident and determine what they can do differently moving forward.
The pastor said even the smallest of church congregations need to have a security plan in place.
