Local business hosting a haunted car wash
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A locally owned car wash is hosting a Halloween themed event over the next few nights called the Tunnel of Terror.
If your car is dirty and you are looking for some COVID friendly Halloween fun, look no further.
Soap My Ride in Bowling Green is opening its car wash when it gets dark for cars to come through and get a haunted car wash.
Cars enter through the front and follow around back to begin their spooky suds adventure.
Paige Peterson saw the line of cars and decided to drive through Wednesday night.
“It was super fun. It was very random. We didn’t even know what we were doing. We were laughing at people who were getting a car wash in the middle of a storm and then we were like, ‘Oh, wait! This is actually an event!” And it was super fun,” said Peterson.
The Shea family owns the car wash.
Last year, they held the Tunnel of Terror for the first time and Collin Shea, one of the owners, said this will be a yearly event.
“It went surprising smooth. We’ve only got so much parking lot to work with but we kind of map it out and it went well and we got to scare some people. All the guys had tons of fun so we figured, why wouldn’t we do it every year,” said Collin Shea.
And since you are staying in your own car, this is a perfect outing during the pandemic, according to one of the owners, Robin Shea.
“This is a safe environment. It’s COVID friendly. Anywhere from beginning to end, depending on how many cars we have in line they could have a 15 to 45 minute experience. The scaring starts the second they get on the lot and it doesn’t end until they pull out of the lot,” said Shea.
You can pull off the lot with a clean car and a white knuckle grip on your steering wheel.
The event began last night and will continue on until Friday night from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night.
