WNKY News 40 Weather Forecast

A WET WEDNESDAY
Since the rains began late Tuesday night, many locations have picked up anywhere from one-half inch to well over an inch-and-a-half. There are a few spots that are approaching two inches of rain as the moisture moves over South Central Kentucky and the I-65 corridor. The rain will gradually taper off as the front slides east this afternoon. Low clouds and drizzle will hang around this evening until the front clears the region. As skies clear tonight, lows will drop into the cooler mid 40’s.
COOLER & DRIER DAYS AHEAD
After the rains, we clear out and cool down starting Thursday with highs only around 70. It will be even cooler Friday as a dry cold front sweeps through. Highs will then only be in the mid 60’s and lows will drop into the 30’s. In fact, patchy frost looks likely as we head into Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights as lows drop to near freezing!
