News 40 Weather | Heavy Rain At Times Today

A WINDY AND WET WEDNESDAY
As another low pressure system has moved into the region, it will work to push moisture back into Southern Kentucky this morning and throughout the day. Rainfall could be moderate to heavy at times which will cause ponding of water on area roadways, so please drive with caution. Many locations look to pick up between 1-2 inches of rain, but no flooding or severe storms are expected. Showers will gradually come to an end as the low pressure system moves away on Thursday. This will be followed by gradual clearing and a much cooler breeze from the northwest. As skies clear Thursday night and lows reach down into the mid 30’s, there could be a few areas of patchy frost by Friday morning.

HALLOWEEN
We will see a mainly sunny day on Friday with a northerly breeze and highs around 60. There will be a few clouds moving through Friday evening which will make it appear a bit spooky as trick-or-treaters head out with temperatures falling from the low 50’s into the mid 40’s. However, that breeze will make it feel a bit chillier.

TIME CHANGE WEEKEND
This is the weekend Daylight Saving Time comes to a close. We turn our clocks BACK one hour before turning in Saturday night. This is also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and weather radios. The chances for rain that were there have pretty much evaporated except for a small chance of light rain Saturday night. Sunshine returns for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with highs moderating into the low 60’s.
