News 40 Weather | Late-Summer Doldrums

STILL WAITING FOR RAIN
If you haven’t heard us say this on-air, you’ll probably hear it several times over the next week but…it’s dry! And we need the rain. Unfortunately, aside from an isolated sprinkle, things aren’t looking promising. We keep watching the models that want to put in an isolated or scattered shower chance early next week but the forecast models don’t all agree on that idea which means there isn’t really any good data to support the idea. We’ll continue to watch the evolving data.

FEELING LIKE SUMMER AGAIN
While we’ve been trending cooler than normal for this time of year (especially in the mornings), that’s about to change. We’re seeing late-Summer heat build in, which means afternoon highs will rise to the mid- to upper 80s and then low 90s by the weekend into next week. Morning lows will also recover to more normal levels, only dipping to the mid-60s by early next week.
