Liapis named CUSA Offensive Player of the Week
WKU Athletics Press Release

DALLAS – WKU Soccer junior midfielder Georgia Liapis has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. The honor comes following her play in the Hilltoppers’ 1-0 win in the regular season finale at Jax State.
On the accomplishment head coach Jason Neidell said “Georgia has been so special to this team. Not only is she the team leader in goals, but her ability and willingness to play both sides of the ball has been a great example for the rest of the team to emulate. She has become a great team player! We are so proud of her.”
This marks the second time this season Liapis has been named player of the week. She was also tabbed CUSA Offensive Player of the Week on September 23.
Liapis scored her ninth goal of the season in WKU’s 1-0 win over Jax State last Sunday. The goal marked the second consecutive game-winner for the junior from Plainfield, Ill.
Liapis leads the team in both goals scored (9), points (21), and total shots (41) this season. She is the first Hilltopper to score nine goals in a season since 2008, which ranks in the top-seven in program history. She is also tied for the second leading scorer in CUSA and ranks third in total points.
The Hilltoppers will open up the 2025 CUSA Championship as the No. 1 seed and will face No. 8 seed Missouri State on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m in Lynchburg, Va.
