KSP warns public of text impersonation scam

Ksp Scam

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is warning the public of an ongoing scam.

According to KSP, scammers are sending fraudulent text messages claiming to be from KSP for unpaid traffic violations.

KSP says the texts ask recipients to pay at links that are not legitimate.

The agency does not contact individuals regarding citations, fines, or payments by text message.

KSP says it has received several reports on Thursday and asks the public to use caution and delete text messages immediately.
