KSP: Troopers seeking info in Perry County robbery

HAZARD, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is working to identify a suspect in a recent armed robbery in Perry County.

Just before noon Central Standard Time on Tuesday, troopers say the robbery occurred in the Hazard community on Upper Second Creek Road.

Authorities say the victim was returning home when an unidentified male subject, armed with a wooden stick, approached the victim and struck him multiple times while demanding his wallet. After obtaining the wallet, authorities say the suspect fled in a maroon Chevrolet passenger car.

If anyone has information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect, they are urged to contact KSP Post 13 at (606) 435-6069. Citizens are also able to provide information using a tip line on the KSP website at www.kentuckystatepolice.ky.gov/tip.

The investigation is ongoing.
