KSP stepping up Super Bowl safety

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, the Kentucky State Police is stepping up enforcement efforts through Operation C.A.R.E., a statewide traffic safety initiative aimed at preventing crashes before they happen.

KSP troopers will increase visibility across local roadways, conducting safety checkpoints and monitoring dangerous behaviors on the road. Officials say big events like the Super Bowl often bring an uptick in traffic violations, and this operation is designed to promote accountability and keep communities safe.

Troopers stress patience when using the roadway.

“I just like to see for people to just actually have a little patience while driving, because I feel like most of our community is just impatient when it comes to getting somewhere. And that better results to speeding their results to collisions and stuff like that. And I just, I just want to see the community just have a little patience when you’re operating your vehicle and be defensive if you’re driving,” said KSP trooper Katan Parker.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, drink responsibly, practice patience, and use defensive driving. For more information about Operation C.A.R.E. click here.
