Kids on the Block session for children dealing with loss
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- If your child is having a difficult time processing the loss of a friend or family member, Kentucky’s Kids on the Block is creating a space where your child can learn how to cope with losing someone.
Kids on the Block and Hospice of Southern Kentucky are coming together to teach elementary-age children new ways to face and understand loss through puppetry.
Amanda Guerra director of programs at Kids on the Block shares why this is a great opportunity for children and their parents. She says, “Our puppets that are in this program, they’ve lost someone, and so the kids can see them and see how they’re handling the situation and reacting and, and then they can kind of model that themselves and know that it’s okay to talk to someone. If you’re feeling bad, you don’t have to hide your feelings.”
Not only will the kids be able to learn, they will also be able to heal and deal with loss in a compassionate environment. This is open to the community. For more information call 270-647-0514 or visit https://www.facebook.com/kentuckykidsontheblock.
