Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 releases latest traffic impact report

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The expected traffic impacts in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 area for June 7 through June 14 are listed below. All work is subject to change.

Interstate 165

  • A project to resurface and rehabilitate Interstate 165 in Butler County continues. Crews are milling and resurfacing the roadway in both directions from mile point 26.4 to mile point 32.8. Motorists should expect lane closures in this area. The speed limit will be lowered to 55 miles per hour. Motorists should use caution as crews will be working close to the roadway. The project is expected to be completed by Nov. 1.

Allen County

  • Old Buck Road: The bridge on Old Buck Creek Road over Buck Creek (mile point 2.1) in Allen County was temporarily closed beginning today for a bridge replacement project. The bridge is expected to remain closed for 60 days with the new bridge opening in early August. Motorists should seek alternate route.

Edmonson County

  • KY 3019 (mile point 0 to 2): Crews will be continue resurfacing in this area. Motorists should expect lane closures in this area. The project is expected to be completed by June 30.

Logan County

  • KY-103 (mile point 7.8 to 10.2): Motorists should expect the road to be down to one lane as crews work on improving the shoulders in this area.
  • U.S. 431 (mile point 24 to 26): Motorists should expect one-lane traffic using temporary signals with 10 inches width restriction for bridge deck restoration on three bridges within the mile points. The project is expected to be completed by July 1.

Metcalfe County

  • KY 533 (mile point 8 to 9.9):  Crews will begin resurfacing the roadway. Motorists should use caution while traveling in this area. The project is expected to be completed by June 30.

Monroe County

  • KY 163 (mile point 12.8 to 14.6): Crews are expected to begin resurfacing in this area. Motorists should be expect lane closures and delays. The project is expected to be completed by July 1.

Simpson County

  • KY 100 (mile point 9.7): A project to rehabilitate the concrete section on KY100 between KY 1008 and U.S. 31-W continues. The road is closed in this area for approximately two more weeks. The project is expected to be completed by July 1.

Warren County

  • KY 101 (from I-65 to U.S. 68): Contractors are ramping up work to widen and improve KY 101 near Interstate 65 at Smiths Grove in Warren County.
  • Construction work includes widening the northbound and southbound I-65 off-ramps at the Exit 38 interchange, installing new traffic signals at both ramps, as well as building additional lanes and a roundabout on KY 101 to serve side streets. Work is being done by Buc-ee’s under an approved Kentucky Transportation Cabinet permit.
  • A work zone is set up along KY 101 near mile point 7.8 between I-65 and U.S. 68. Over the next several months, motorists should expect new trafficpatterns, including lane closures, lane shifts, and intermittent flagged traffic. Delays are possible. Traffic is already using some new lane configurations, and travelers are reminded to follow guide signs and stay within lanes marked by cones or barrels.
