UPDATE: 19-year-old killed after collision in Edmonson County

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police has released further details surrounding a death after a collision in Edmonson County Tuesday.

Troopers say they received a request from the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office just after 9 a.m. to investigate a fatal collision.

Authorities arrived at the scene located at Wingfield Church Road at The Bridge Road.

Authorities say they learned through a preliminary investigation that a Toyota Camry was traveling on Wingfield Church Road when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto The Bridge Road.

KSP says the Camry crossed the oncoming lane of travel and was struck by a Pontiac G6 driven by Hannah Guess, 19, of Bowling Green.

The Pontiac continued off of the left side of the road until it struck a tree, authorities say.

Guess was pronounced dead at the scene by the Edmonson County coroner.

No other injuries were reported at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
